Her experience includes volunteering for the Kitten Rescue Network and fostering and re-homing cats. Eileen holds the position of Secretary of Charlie’s Angels Horse Rescue.
Alwyn Blayse
Alwyn is married to Joanne and is also the co-founder of the organisation. He is a physiotherapist, with a specialisation in hydrotherapy. His experience includes supporting a variety of children’s charities, including being a Wish Granter for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, and an active member of Plan. Alwyn is absolutely fearless when it comes to dreaming big! As such, he has now taken on the role of Campaign Coordinator. You can expect to hear a lot more from Alwyn in 2010.
Geraldine Schoenwald
Geraldine holds the positions of Treasurer and Bookkeeper in the organisation and is a professional bookkeeper with extensive experience leading teams of finance personnel in complex commercial businesses, dealing with lots of dollars. Her experiences include working in organisations and helping to build them from the ground up. She has always been known and valued by these companies for her scrupulous attention to detail and meticulous chasing of every loose end. She is just what a charitable organisation needs!
Donna Bolton and Sharon O’Hehir-Fleming
This dynamic duo are sisters and a force to be reckoned with! They currently co-hold the position of Fundraising Co-ordinator for the organisation and tackle the job with relish. Donna runs Canine Cubby and breeds Boxers and her varied experience includes being an ambulance officer, a termite inspector and business owner. There’s nothing she can’t do! Sharon adopted rescue horse, Rosie, and is now a foster carer for the organisation too. Her enthusiasm for getting things done is priceless for a volunteer organisation. Sharon’s experience includes running a horse carriage business, working as a nurse and a paramedic and in sales. Donna says she is a wonderful sister who will help anyone or any animal in need.
Jo Miller
Jo is a CAHR Foster Carer and bravely jumped into the new world of horse rescue, taking on star pony, “Charlie”, after whom this organisation is named. Jo loves all animals, furred, feathered and even the scaly ones. She typifies what it means to be a great rescue worker, appreciating that she gets as much out of it as the horses do. Jo has a huge heart for horse rescue and we wouldn’t be here today without her.
