Charlie’s Angels had its first big outing on Saturday at the Green Earth Festival in the Brisbane City botanical gardens. We had a wonderful day networking with so many great people–potential adoptors, potential foster carers, lawyers wanting to assist us, a microbiologist wanting to assist us to test pet food for horse meat content, a vet who wants to assist us, and many passionate people who love horses and want to make a difference in the world.
President, Joanne Schoenwald, spoke in the speaker’s tent to a very interactive audience who asked many questions. Campaign Coordinator, Alwyn Blayse, led a campaign meeting on our newest campaign to address horse welfare (compulsory microchipping, registration and passports for horses). And volunteers, Geraldine, Diana, Kylee, Laine and Alyssa all spoke to passers by.
A really big thank you to everyone who came up and bought raffle tickets, stopped to look at our photos of horses, talk about horses and share in the love for horses and our vision for a brighter future.
It was Charlie’s Angels first big public event and was wonderful confirmation of the important work that we’re doing. We look forward to doing it again next year!
